Hello people!
Since my last blog in Vietnam, I've been around quite a bit in Asia; Marshall and I made it by bus from Vietnam all the way down to Bangkok passing through Laos and North of Thailand, bus trips varied greatly during the trip, from an extremely bumpy 30hr bus with zero sleep to luxury massage chairs/ seat entertainment bus with snacks. Here was one of the nice sleeping buses (just a bit chilly I must say)
We had quite a few attempts to motorbike it all the way from Vietnam to Bangkok, renting motorbikes, buying motorbikes, selling motorbikes, highway drama, mechanics giving different information, using water instead of oil... Sadly by the end it just didn't work to motorbike it all the way but we got some interesting stories out of it.
We didn't spend too much time in Laos as we were planning to spend more time in Thailand, Laos highlights were:
Waterfall in Laung Prabang:
Saw some monks thought it would be cool to get some pictures:
Some rope swinging action kept us entertained:
And of course ze fly kick pose! photo credit goes to Ms Marshall Kong
After Bangkok I went to Myanmar for just under 2 weeks, Myanmar is a real experience!
We started from the Yangon in the south and flew out from Mandalay.
The fly kick on the left was at the golden rock, the one on the right at Yangons Shwedagon Pagoda, Both photo credits goes to the Kath Arina:
After we went to Bago where the biggest lying buddha in the world is located, we went around Bago with motorbikes where we had some small petrol issues but all was well in the end. Photo credit goes to Ciara O'sullivan:
My Highlights of Myanmar:
1- Three day trekking trip where we passed through some amazing views, and slept in different villages and getting with the locals.
I recorded my blog with the great view behind me this time:
2- Inle lake with its amazing view all over, taking a boat tour and going all around the lake for a day to all the different houses, villages,
Blacksmiths:
Cigarette making:
The long-neck ladies:
And the temple where I did my fly kick photo credits go Ciara O'sullivan:
3- Last but definitely no least the thousand temples of Bagan!
Was a real amazing view there, we went into some of the temples and got many pics, the Bagan crew Me Tobi and Ciara:
